1 Who is Pit Bomans?
When you say in Dutch “that’s a girl with Pit” you are referring to a girl with guts.
I guess my name suites me perfectly.
2 What is the story behind your label? How did it all start?
The PIT BOMANS – collection for me is just an extension of my own creativity and fashion style.
My sense for style and creativity I probably have inherited from my dad.
He is a true artist when it comes to building boats, interior designs and large furniture’s.
Although I like making objects out of wood and steel myself, I love making jewellery.

I have always wanted to design and create something that was all mine from beginning till the end.
And that’s exactly what I did. I have just marketed my own craftsmanship into a label.
With my degree in Concepts & Brands (Amsterdam Fashion Institute)
and goldsmithing classes in Amsterdam as well as in New York
I was fortunate enough to create my own little label from scratch.

3 What is your inspiration for the collection?
Overall I must say that the Indian culture definitely is my inspiration at this moment in time.
I love the bright colours used in their accessories, the feathers, body paint and off course the lack of clothes they wear.
That’s the way I would like to see my jewellery as well, on the raw!

Recently I discovered a WigWam motel in California at the route 66.
I am intrigued by the contradiction within this concept Motel.
‘Indians (Native Americans ) used to live in authentic tipi tents in the wild,
hunting animals to provide for their family dinner. Exactly the values of life I love within this culture. And therefore used as foundation of my collection.
Now a days all there is left is a commercialised Motel on the highway where you can become a Walt Disney Indian for a day. All you need to do is park your rental car next to your concrete WigWam!’
4 What are some of your favourite materials to work with and create with?
Overall I work with all kinds of metals, silver brass and gold. But I like to use it in combinations with for example ropes and cords to make the plain metals more colourful and interesting.
Also leather I find very intriguing and I hope to use it in one of my new designs.
